Flower of Scotland.

This is the song “flower of Scotland“. Scotland hasn’t got any himn officially, but we could say tha it is the himn of Scotland. It is singed in sport events like rugby and football. Apart from it, there is other song that could be the oficial himn: “Scotland the brave”, it is singed at Commonwealth games, but in a online votation in 2006 with 10 000 people of participation, the “flower of Scotland” beat the other, 41% to 29%. So for the most of Scotish, their himn is “flower of Scotland”.

Lyrics in English:

O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against him,
Proud Edward’s Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

The Hills are bare now,
And Autumn leaves
Lie thick and still,
O’er land that is lost now,
Which those so dearly held,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward’s Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

Those days are past now,
And in the past
They must remain,
But we can still rise now,
And be the nation again,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward’s Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against him,
Proud Edward’s Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

In Spanish:

O Flor de Escocia,
Cuándo volveremos a ver,
a tus semejantes otra vez,
Que lucharon y murieron por,
Tu pequeña montaña y río,
Y resistieron contra él,
el orgulloso ejército de Eduardo,
Y lo envió a casa,
A pensárselo de nuevo.

Las montañas están vacias ahora,
Y las hojas de otoño
caen espesas y quietas,
Nuestra tierra que está perdida ahora,
Que aquéllos fieramente defendieron,
Y resistieron contra él,
el orgulloso ejército de Eduardo,
Y lo envió a casa,
A pensárselo de nuevo.

Esos días han pasado ahora,
Y en el pasado
Deben permanecer,
Pero todavía podemos resurgir,
Y ser la nación una vez más,
Que resistó contra él,
el orgulloso ejército de Edward,
Y lo envió a casa,
A pensárselo de nuevo.

O Flor de Escocia,
Cuándo volveremos a ver,
A tus semejantes otra vez,
Que lucharon y murieron por,
Tu pequeña montaña y río,
Y resistieron contra él,
el orgulloso ejército de Edward,
Y lo envió a casa,
A pensárselo de nuevo.
